When does the membrane pay for itself?

The membrane pays for itself through savings on cooling and heating. How long it takes depends mostly on what you pay for energy: about 1 year where it is expensive, and generally 4 years at most where it is affordable (in Montreal, for example, about CA$0.10 per kWh). The form the gain takes depends on the condition of your current systems.
