CANADIAN CANCER SOCIETY: $5,600 DONATION TO BEAT CANCER

During the month of December 2023, Ecolo Synergy has decided to get involved in the community by collaborating with the Canadian Cancer Society in the fight against this disease that affects us all from near and far. Whether it’s a family member, in love, at work or in friendship, statistics predict that 2 out of 5 Canadians will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime.

The aim of the campaign was not only to raise awareness of the cause, but also to accumulate as many reactions as possible and turn them into real money. By engaging the Ecolo Synergy community across their various platforms by adding 25 cents to the donation amount for each interaction on the publications, be it a click, comment, share or reaction, Ecolo Synergy managed to raise $5,600!

“My sister was diagnosed with brain cancer in 2008. This news had a huge impact on our family. We supported her as best we could with the pitfalls of this disease. Her battle ended soon after, at the age of 54. She would be proud of us today and to see that we are actively involved in the fight despite her departure.”

Jose de Oliva, founder of Ecolo Synergy

“My aunt was gentle and generous. Wherever she went, people remembered her as a cheerful, unifying woman. I was young at the time, and I was deeply saddened when she passed away. Although she rests in peace today, it’s important to continue raising awareness and making a difference in our community.”

Ricardo de Oliva, cofounder of Ecolo Synergy and Jose De Oliva’s son

It was with great emotion that Ecolo Synergy’s team was able to meet Marc Parenteau, Manager of Facilities and Operations of the Canadian Cancer Society, at the Laval center on December 22, 2023 to hand over the check in person.

In addition to having the honour of helping the Canadian Cancer Society and its fighters through this donation, Ecolo Synergy is also helping this organization reach their carbon neutrality objective following their green shift this year. Their Montreal building has taken the green step by installing their glass insulation membrane. The ESG (environment, social and governance) movement is making headway, and Ecolo Synergy is proud to be part of it.
